Progress So Far

Health and Safety 

Europlaz aims to be proactive rather than reactive when it comes to the Health and Safety of our employees.  By identifying potential risks before they become incidents, we are creating a workplace that is safer, healthier, and more resilient for everyone. We have increased regular hands-on training, ensuring all employees are equipped with the knowledge to recognise and mitigate risks.

We have recently introduced Near-Miss forms. Employees are trained and encouraged to report any potential health and safety risks, helping us prevent future incidents by addressing the risk before it becomes an incident.

This proactive approach allows us to intervene early, ensuring the well-being of our team and maintaining a safer work environment. Europlaz is proud to share that our reported accident and incident statistics have been the lowest they have ever been since the company began recording.

Mental Health Awareness Training

We understand that mental health is as equally important as physical health and have taken steps to ensure all our employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills to recognise signs, offer support, and encourage open conversations about mental wellbeing. Staff have been offered training on mental health awareness, and we hope this is only the beginning of our mental health focused training. Europlaz is proud to invest in the mental health of our workforce, helping to reduce stigma and promote a healthier, more productive workplace for all.

This training helps staff identify stress and anxiety, provide compassionate support, and access available resources, reducing stigma and promoting a healthier work environment.

Future Ambitions

Colleague Engagement Group 

Each year, we proudly support a different charity, ensuring our contributions make a meaningful difference across a variety of causes. Last year, we partnered with Essex Air Ambulance, helping raise vital funds for their life-saving work. In previous years we have supported Farleigh Hospice and RNLI to name but a few.

This year, we want to do even more for our community. This is why we are establishing a social committee involving employees from across the company. The group will help organise fundraising events, volunteering initiatives and awareness campaigns as well as other social events for our staff.

Mental Health First Aiders

As part of our ongoing commitment to employee well-being, we are expanding our mental health initiatives by training dedicated Mental Health First Aiders within our organisation. These specially trained team members will serve as key points of support, offering guidance, reassurance, and resources to colleagues who may be experiencing mental health challenges. By fostering an environment of openness and understanding, our Mental Health First Aiders will play a crucial role in reducing stigma, encouraging conversations about mental well-being, and ensuring that employees feel comfortable seeking help when needed.

Through this initiative, we aim to create a workplace culture where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical health, empowering our employees to prioritise their well-being and access the necessary support. This programme is just one of the many steps we are taking to reinforce our dedication to be a supportive, inclusive, and mentally healthy workplace for all.
