Environmental Policy

As a medical device manufacturing company, we are committed to protecting the Environment and evaluating the impact the organisation can have. Our main concerns are the Health & Safety of the workforce and the potential impacts of the manufacturing processes on the environment. Compliance with legislation is the minimum standard to which the company shall adhere. The company shall also endeavour to follow best practice with due regard for its business needs.

Regarding the environment, we instigated a review of manufacturing methods and analysed energy performances, identifying, and correcting inefficiencies, leading to reduced energy consumption and material wastage. We actively promote recycling both internally and amongst our suppliers and customers. We understand the impact of our material use, particularly our plastic usage, and recognise our responsibility to conduct operations with due concern for the environment and minimise our impact. We seek continual improvement of our environmental performance and compliance with all relevant legislation through continuous monitoring and attention to relevant detail.

The objectives under Europlaz Technologies Ltd environmental policy are as follows:

  • Reduce the carbon footprint of the business to achieve Net zero emissions by 2045.
  • Cut our scope 1 and 2 emissions by 20 % by 2027 by reducing energy consumption, increasing renewable energy usage, and improving our overall energy efficiency.
  • Minimise the production of all types of waste, mainly plastic, by prioritising reusing, recycling, and responsibly disposing of any unavoidable waste.
  • We aim to monitor and reduce our water consumption and ensure water waste is handled responsibly.
  • Prioritising the use of materials with a lower environmental impact where possible.
  • Engage with employees and the local community to improve environmental awareness.

Management will be responsible for ensuring that the policy is communicated, and the following initiatives are implemented:

  • Employers and contractors are encouraged to be receptive to the personal impact they can have on this policy and to report areas of concern.
  • Favour the use of suppliers who are committed to a proactive environmental practice.
  • Complete lifecycle assessments for our products and packaging to remove unnecessary carbon emissions and make sustainable changes when possible.
  • Carbon offsetting is implemented, that as a minimum, is commensurate to the level of the business travel.
  • Ensuring water, air and noise pollution is prevented, particularly from the redundant electrical equipment.
  • All incidents detrimental to the environment are reported, investigated and action is taken to prevent reoccurrence.

The management team and Sustainability Officer are responsible for ensuring this policy is implemented.
