Europlaz invests in skills and training to support the future

Europlaz is investing heavily in skills and training to support long term growth and strengthen the UK manufacturing workforce. Here is why this matters now more than ever.

Europlaz is investing heavily in the future of its workforce with a 500 percent increase in its training and development budget. This commitment strengthens technical skills, supports leadership development and creates clear career pathways across the business. The company will also recruit ten apprentices and graduates as part of its long term plan to grow future talent. By modernising internal systems and expanding opportunities for hands on learning, Europlaz is building a skilled workforce ready for the future of UK manufacturing.

Britain rediscovers the value of practical skills

There is a noticeable shift happening across Britain. After years of steering young people toward university as the default route, the country is rediscovering the value of apprenticeships and vocational training. Many graduates now leave education carrying debt and uncertainty, only to realise the economy still depends on people with the hands on ability to keep industry moving.

At Europlaz, this has never been in doubt. We are a manufacturer that relies on skilled people, not theory. Our production environments, tooling and systems operate smoothly because dedicated teams run them with precision and expertise. Investing in people has always been the foundation of our success.

Why technical training matters at Europlaz

Our work depends on people who can operate advanced machinery, troubleshoot complex tooling and meet the high standards required in modern manufacturing. These are practical skills built through structured training, real experience and a commitment to continuous development.

A major investment in developing our workforce

In the year ahead we are increasing our training and development budget by 500 percent. This significant investment reflects our belief that the best way to support both new and existing customers is to strengthen our technical capability from within.

This expanded budget will support technical training, broader multiskilling and stronger leadership development. It will also help create clear progression routes so our teams can build confident, long term careers.

Building a strong pipeline of future talent

We will also welcome ten apprentices and graduates this year. Apprenticeships are often described as second choice routes, yet they offer exactly what many young people want: meaningful work, the chance to earn while learning and a direct route into skilled roles. Many of our most experienced team members began their careers on the production floor. We want the next generation to follow a similar path.

Modernising the systems that support our people

As part of our focus on improving development and support across the company, we have appointed a new Head of People, Anya Grattidge. While only one element of our wider plans, she brings valuable experience in building practical, people centred systems.

One of her early actions is to modernise everyday processes by moving forms, communication and administrative tasks into central systems. It is a simple change that frees people from unnecessary admin and allows them to focus on developing their skills and supporting customers.

Creating long term careers in UK manufacturing

Young adults are often told discouraging stories about work, yet manufacturing offers something very different. In businesses like ours, ideas are heard, contributions matter and careers are built on real experience. Europlaz also maintains a family run feel and a level of flexibility that larger organisations cannot always match.

Preparing for the future of production

Our Southminster facility includes cleanroom environments, precision moulding equipment, assembly and the infrastructure required for highly specialised manufacturing. These settings demand technical understanding that classroom learning alone cannot provide. This is why vocational routes are so valuable. They develop the people who keep essential production running and who will shape what comes next.

Britain may be rediscovering the importance of vocational skills, but at Europlaz we never forgot it. As the country works to rebuild its technical workforce, we will continue to invest in people, create opportunities and show that manufacturing offers not just jobs but long term, fulfilling careers.
