The Team Leader is responsible for assisting the team to manufacture production in line with weekly/monthly production plans and helping ensure efficient operation of the department, whilst also carrying out in process checks as required. Responsible for all aspects of product output including materials, quality, output, scrap, training and staffing issues.

Experience & Qualifications
• Ideally, a minimum of 3-years’ experience in a leadership role, whist working within a manufacturing environment.
• A qualification in Team Leadership level III or equivalent.
• An ability to coach and develop team members to achieve their full potential.
• To manage performance issues using both informal and formal methods as appropriate.
• To be self-driven and keen to grow and develop their career within Europlaz.
Special Working Conditions
Cleanroom Environment – Keep to cleanroom regulations as per training at all times. Medical devices are made under controlled GMP conditions, cleanroom environments to ensure there is no contamination in a hospital or surgical environment. It is essential you enforce and adhere to strict regulations when working within the cleanrooms.
Key Responsibilities for the Team Leader
a. Production
• Using the MRP system, 123insight, as and when required.
• Booking in of sub-assemblies into 123insight and any appropriate labelling required.
• Input Works Order information when job is complete, report on excess components, hours used, downtime reason, scrap etc.
• Perform in-process testing and document as necessary
• Provide an interface between Operators and Senior Management
• Ensure that product is delivered to customers on time and in full
• Ensure production line is set up in accordance with procedure prior to start of product manufacture ensuring the line is ready for assembly operators to produce.
• Ensure that operator component parts are replenished in a timely and orderly manner.
• Update computerised data capture systems.
• Ensuring all products are manufactured in-line with the Company’s quality standards.
• Ensuring general maintenance of production area where necessary reporting repairs and maintenance to maintenance engineer.
• Utilise 5s techniques within all production areas.
• Try to help solve issues before escalating to manager as and when necessary.
• Review and deal with operator holiday requests appropriately.
• Conduct Return to works for direct reports and review absenteeism.
• Deputise for Manager and/or other Team Leaders as required.
• To undertake any such reasonable additional tasks as are deemed necessary to fulfil the role.
b. Quality
• Liaise with the Quality Department to update Work Instructions as required.
• Ensure quality, GMP and hygiene standards are maintained.
• Participate in Audits and be available to discuss jobs with customers as required
• Act as the champion for the area in Environmental, Health and Safety issues. Be aware of the Health and Safety and risk assessment for each job and communicate any risks to operators.
• Ensure the assigned areas of the cleanrooms are kept clean and tidy and are maintained to an acceptable standard by operators.
• Ensure correct PPE is issued and used on all assigned jobs.
c. Training
• Ensure Work Instructions are available, and all operators have been trained against them before commencement of production.
• Organise training where needed and ensure training records are kept up to date.
• Manage the induction for new recruits into the area.
• Sign off training records and forms, provide feedback where necessary.
